Selamat Datang and Welcome to my homepage. At this site, you will be able to read my speeches on numerous occasions, and I welcome any comments which you may have on them.

As the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Malaysia, I am proud to say that the range of subjects in my speeches encompasses all sections of society, be they politicians, civil servants, the corporate sectors, the electorate, students and the youths. I hope that you will find them enlightening as well as being food for thought as we journey forward into the future.

Globalisation has brought us closer than ever before. It is globalisation which has revolutionise our way of communicating and one aspect of that is the advancement in Information and Communications Technology or ICT, which in turn created a borderless frontier of knowledge and information acquisition. In Sarawak, the government has put in place a formidable array of mechanisms to prepare the people in facing challenges.

I personally feel that from the days of old, Sarawak has advanced by leaps and bounds into the new millennium with added vigour and is not left behind in every aspect of the modern day living. I dare say that our standard and quality of living have made a tremendous leap forward and we must improve and better our standards from time to time.

My website is meant for everyone who is interested in the development of Sarawak from the early days to the present. I certainly hope that what Sarawakians have been through all these years will be captured and mirrored in my speeches on various occasions.

Whatever hardships and difficulties we have been through all these years, we still remain united in facing the rough and tumble of everyday challenges in our daily lives. Such trials and tribulations can only cement and solidify our stance each day of our lives. Without the peace, unity and tranquility prevailing in our society today, Sarawak would have gone down a different path and history would have adjudged us differently.

I feel personally happy, delighted and most proud to admit that inspite of our multi-ethnicity in racial composition, we are able to live in an amicable brotherhood of men and women and our track record is testimony to that.

I therefore hope that this website will be able to reach out to the people. You are most welcome to read my views and news online.

Welcome!

YAB Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud
