CM, wife, state leaders visit Uggah for Gawai

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg and wife Datin Amar Datuk Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang were special guests at Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas’ Gawai Dayak open house at his residence here on Tuesday evening.

Abang Johari and Juma’ani, who were accompanied by their six-year-old granddaughter Nazya Badea, were welcomed upon their arrival by Uggah and wife Datin Amar Doreen Mayang.

They were then treated to a traditional Iban ‘ngajat’ dance and musical performance by performers from the Dayak Cultural Foundation.

Among the distinguished guests present were former Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang, State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani, Rural Electricity and Water Supply Minister Datuk Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, Education, Science and Technological Research

Minister Dato Sri Michael Manyin Jawong, Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister

Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.
