KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg says he is generally disappointed with the Budget 2019 tabled by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng yesterday.

He pointed out that the budget was very general without mentioning the specific projects and schools in the rural areas.

“There was no mention about schools, and there was no mention about the specific rural projects like water and electricity supply.

” And so of course, I am generally disappointed (with the budget), despite ‘somebody’ telling us about getting 30 per cent,” Abang Johari told reporters today after officiating an opening of the state level Womens Day 2018 at Penview Convention Centre at Demak.

The chief minister also said he was expecting allocation to repair dilapidated schools in the state, but was not mentioned.

“I was expecting allocation for schools, but nothing mentioned, I have also written to Guan Eng (Lim Guan Eng) about the RM1 billion loan, but until now there is no response, no reply,” he said.

Abang Johari also presumes that the RM4.336 billion allocation for the state was more towards the construction of Pan Borneo Highway, which has been carried out.
